When your time is precious, how can you limit the length of your phone calls?

During the conversation, hang up in the middle of your sentence and the other person will think that you've been cut-off. He or she will rarely phone back.
Use an egg-timer to remind you of a three- or six-minute time limit.
Stand up when you make the call and sit down when you hang up.
Explain to the other person that you are involved in a time consuming project and that you can't talk for too long.
